Default Hard mode and afflicted soul explosion?

How exactly will this work out? Afflicted are already a problem for warriors/assassin anything close to them, no its not that assassins are fragile its that they kill to much for their own good

However with hard mode, I'm supposing that there will be increased mobs and maybe higher levels (begs for level 50 shiro *cough*).

Maybe I had missed something but their are mobs with unpleasant side effects how do you deal with them?

If hard mode requires pugs since you need people with skills and not henchies to beat it, how will a sin get 1 with the prejudice. How will a warrior go in vizunah square when the monk is trying to stop the waves of pressure?

in the grand court of selbekeh mission when you kill the thing demon... and he creates those damaging tyrants if the mission is harder how can you take care of this.

Dev's most likely took melee and range classes into opinion and how to deal with afflicted and other monsters that have nasty side effects, but I'd like to know how.

Anet already said they were decreasing the difficulty of some things, so it sort of implies they'd be their current form in hard mode. Afflicted explosion, kiting casters, and maybe other things were mentioned.

You'll just have to search around to find that info.

Vizunah Square is a 2-party mission, so you'd have 2-4 monks, and even Mhenlo. Afflicted Soul Explosion is only 78 damage to 70AL, which is cleaned up by Heal Party or LoD. If you're really concerned about the damage of the explosion, there's Prot Spirit/Spirit Bond, the latter of which will basically negate the explosion damage.

It's not just the explosion I was questioning about how monsters with side effects are implied in Hard mode like some bosses, if things are harder and bosses still do double damage and maybe have more mobs around them lots of spike protection is needed, things like that.

The only campain that is going to be much different than normal mode is Chapter 1. Chapters 2 and 3 still werent very hard, but significantly harder than Tyria.

Where exactly do your monks get this limitless energy from? Afflicted don't just stand there doing nothing till death, they do tend to hit back so its not just cleaned up by a 'heal party/LoD'. As for your PS/sb theory... Order of Apostasy and Drain Enchantments ring any bells?

Does AoE ring any bells by the way? Or anything that hits multiple targets for that case. I managed to (stupidly) kill my Ritualist twice while doing Eternal Grove by blowing up a spirit killing 4+ in 1 go. That instant wave of 300+ damage is reasonably deadly, if it gets increased due to hard mode... how exactly are we suppose to accomplish anything without a MM to bodyblock and a hoarde of non-melee allies?

It could also mean that 'Normal Mode' doesn't have afflicted soul explosions at all. Hard Mode is just as-is with regards to this.

If you're attempting to be arrogant, you should at least think it through first.

Afflicted Soul Explosion

The problem is not one soul explosion but instead a simultanous chain of explosions, caused by PVEs eternal AOE Mindset. Monks from another team won't be helping either as they don't have the appropiate GUI to heal members of another party.
The question is quite legitimate, and boils down to uncertainty about how hardmode will be implemented. A bad job would simply be to introduce environmental effects and otherwise multiply AL/Hitpoints and Attributes. A good job would be a complete rehaul of skillsets and patrol pattern randomisation. I assume, it will be a mixture of both.

Oh so the fact i started off with more health changes the fact that 5 Soul Explosions at the same time still killed me?

If your attempting to be smart.... don't. I assume you didn't know that Ritualists have this attribute called Channeling and also don't have access to Strength/Mysticism or a need to use Vital Boon and Fertile Season which is useless anyway. Not all Rits are Resto/Communing you know.

You can go back to your hole now.

Ironically, Afflicted Soul Explosion is no picnic for Minion Master either...

Read the topic first.

(And Shelter has been nerfed to hell and back. It would protect one Explosion, then die.)

The afflicted soul explosion would 1hko the damn shelter -_-.

anyways they may not due 2x damage (explosion) I dont not hear that but mobs may be increased meaning more explosions. I would rather not be my assassin, using assassin promise to destroy 3 enemies in 10-15 seconds only to notice the combined damage of 3 explosions + afflicted attacks has destroyed me.

If a warrior walks in, throws up a couple of armor boosting skills (I like conviction + watch yourself), it brings soul explosion down to a laughable 24 damage. It really isn't all that bad, you just need to know what you're doing before you rush in.

Well, when I took my 'sin and warrior through any areas with Afllicted, I used a necro secondary.

It's amazing how useful a parasitic bond can be to deal with those nasty explosions - it's a low energy, fast casting heal that triggers at just the right time...
